We’ve all been there. Either in the stands watching our friends or siblings play or on the ice with our parents watching. Something happens, either you are on the wrong side of a two-hander or you get slashed while you have the puck covered and you hear a familiar scream or yell on the other side of the glass. It’s your parents going crazy because the referees didn’t call a penalty you drew.
The dad  was so mad over his daughter getting taken down that he used bad language and slammed his left hand against the glass so hard that it shattered it. The manager of the rink said that his wedding ring is what shattered the glass and the ring broke too. A family friend of Paul said his ring was made of Carbide and the hardness of the metal caused it to shatter the glass. The man has been banned from the arena and has to pay to replace the pane of glass in addition to his wedding ring.
The  man is now banned from watching his kid play hockey and had to pay to replace the glass and his wedding ring because he was angry over the refs call? I hope he’s learned his lesson. This incident occurred just in Vancouver is considering banning spectators because of persistent harassment of referees. Mind you these kids who referee youth hockey games are as young as 15/16 years old trying to make a few bucks to save money for a new car or a new hockey stick. I’ve seen many abusive parents.SHoulnt  matter  if you boo or  mad with a call,  But to cause a stoppage of play like shattering the glass is just cause to get banned from a rink because he’s not mature enough to keep his emotions in check.

2016 Winter Classic Between the Montreal Canadiens and the Boston Bruins

The NHL confirmed the 2016 Winter Classic will be held at Gilette Stadium ( home of the New England patriots). This Match up is a rivalry between the Montreal Canadiens and the Boston Bruins, an original 6 match up. This Winter Classic will represent the old 1990's match up. The Canadiens and the Bruins wer'e always a big match up in the National Hockey League. The Teams have met in the playoffs 34 times and the Montreal Canadiens have won 25 of the series. This rivalry is one of the biggest in professional sports and sports fans, the Yankees–Red Sox rivalry, Jets–Patriots rivalry and Celtics–Lakers rivalry. The first ever NHL out door hockey game was played back in 2003 as the Edmonton Oilers faced the montreal Canadiens in an outdoor brawl. The weather was -45 in edmonton and it was very cold. The Canadiens have yet to play in a winter classic but they have played in a couple heritage classics (other game against the Calgary Flames) The game ended in a 3-1 win to the flames over the Canadiens. I think it was a great idea to put the Boston Bruins up against the Montreal Canadiens because it brought tramendist hype to the game. it is a big opportunitie to reunite the 2 teams in a game that will bring joy to the fans. This years winter classic was the Washington capitals against the chicago black hawks what i thought wasnt a very interestting match up for the outdoor games but last year was a oringinal 6 match up as the maple leafs faced the detroit red wings in michigan

Jean Béliveau was one of the greatest hockey players in Hockey History as he played for the Montreal Canadiens. He was born on August 31, 1931 in Trois-Rivères, Quebec. He went on to play from 1950-1971 and won 10 Stanley Cups with the Montreal Canadiens. Jean was an exceptional leader as he wore the C as in Captain for most of his career for the Montreal Canadiens. On December 2nd 2014, Jean Béliveau passed away for unknown illness. He was only 83. This had a huge impact on the hockey world as they found out a captain has fallen. He was one of the greatest Captains averaging about 70 points a season for The Montreal Canadiens.  He won NHL (National Hockey League) several times and was a role model for children of all ages. He was a very well man. He was always signing autographs and always talking to fans and always proud to be a Montreal Canadian. After he died, millions we’re sadden by it as the funeral was held today on December 10th 2014 at the Bell Center (Montreal Canadiens official arena. In all of his seasons, he averaged 1219 Points in only 20 seasons which is unbelievable. The Montreal Canadiens tribute Jean Béliveau because he was with them through his whole career and he was a part of 10 of their 24 Stanley cups. He was always part of the Candiens even after his retirement in 1971 as one of the club scouts. He was a role model to every hockey player to live. He was the Sidney Crosby of the league at that moment. He carried players to be better.

The draft is a very important day of the year for prospects of the NHL, Lots of nerves and smiles popping up on peoples faces. Its one of those days that you want to watch future NHL stars have a smile on there face ! I can only imagine what it would feel like to be drafted in the NHL. Its a dream of mine and is so to many other minor hockey players in the world! Connor McDavid ( age 17 ) was just an ordinary minor hockey player growing up in New Market, Ontario having one dream, to go pro in hockey. Connor McDavid was drafted 1st overall in the OHL entry draft by the erie otters. The world turned shockingly and saw what he could do, this year Connor Mcdavid put a record of 49 points in only 15 OHL hockey games in the regular season. In his 16th game, he suffered a fracture bone in his left hand and is out till now. He is expected to be back before the U-21 World junior hockey championships in Montreal and Toronto this upcoming year. With NHL scouts watching the young star produce in his league, the teams want him. He is expected to be playing for the Buffalo Sabres if the team continues to be unsuccessful in the 2014-2015 season. Connor Mcdavid and the Erie Otters are a record of 19 wins 3 loss and 1 shout out loss which puts them first in the league! Connor mcdavid was the first ever 16 year old to play in the under U-21 Canadian world junior hockey team. Connor Mcdavid had more points then Crosby did when he played minor hockey. Do we have the next big super star here in Canada? In my opinion i think so because it shows in his performance, he's ranked #1 in the OHL with only 15 games played.

The Stanley Cup

Stanley Cup no background.pngThe stanley cup is one of the biggest prizes when it comes to sports. The NHL was founded in 1917 when there were 6 teams in the NHL ( Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Boston, Detroit, New York) After every decade the sport is played, The NHL adds on a peice to the cup. The writing on the Stanley cup is every player who has ever won the cup and teams. The Montreal Canadiens are the team with the most Stanley cup wins with 24 Stanley cups followed by toronto with only 13. The Stanley Cup was not always part of the NHL. In 1892 the Stanley family put on the first ever dominion hockey challenge which was after bought by the NHL and now the offical trophy of hockey. The Stanley cup is pretty much a dream to every hockey player around the world. To see the trophy is just a privilige. The stanley cup is the biggest prize in my opinion in every sport on this very planet. The first ever time the cup was awarded was in 1893 in montreal H.C. After the two leagues ( National hockey association) (pacific hockey association) combind then started the league. They`re are generally 3 stanley cups, there is the dominion challenge cup, the presidents cup and the replica cup. The replica cup is used when the team wins the cup and is on the ice. The Stanley cup is generally awarded to each player and everyone one of them get awarded the trophy atleast for a whole week to show it off from there familly. In my opinion, the Stanley cup is one of the best awards a person can ever get, its a hockey players dream to hold the cup up and win it with their team.

They're are many star hockey players in the National hockey league that give their life to play the sport. Some stand out more then others. For exemple players like Sidney Crosby, Steven Stamkos, Carey Price and others.Players like these , dedicate there lives to become top of the league and they push themselves to get there. The National Hockey League gives out an award at the end of the year for top points (goals+assist) out of the 82 games they play each season (national hockey league is a pro league where players from around the world get drafted by NHL teams and play 82 games and playoffs ,average player makes about 800 thousand dollars a year and usally the best ones make about 7 million dollars a year.) The work is not so easy, these players are really hard on there bodies and often hurt themselves doing it. Average hockey athlete career usually ends in there late 30s or early 40s .Jaromír Jágr who was born February 15 1972 (42 years of age). The best hockey player ratted by the critics to this day is Sidney Crosby . Sidney was borned August 7 1987 in Halifax , Canada. Crosby picked the number 87 cause of the year he was borned in. He played year up AAA until at the age of 15 he got scouted out . To this day he plays for the Pittsburgh peiguins making around 5 million a year . The effort each pro hockey player makes is enormous and it takes hard work and effort .Not all athletes work as hard as they do.

Ottawa Senators vs. Toronto Maple Leafs PPE

For just the second time ever in the National Hockey League (NHL), Due to the attack in Ottawa at the parliament and Memorial, The Game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Ottawa Senators was postponed. The terrorist attack in Ottawa was a Canadian changing moment witch sadly killing Cpl. Nathan Cirillos who was standing honor at the war memorial in Ottawa. The terrorist then barged into the parliament but the security killed him. This is the first time in Canadian history, someone has ever terrorized at the parliament in Ottawa. The reason they canceled the National Hockey League game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Ottawa Senators is because they we’re worried about if they were going to be targeted. This isn’t the first time the NHL has postponed a game. April 15 2013, The Boston Bruins we’re supposed to play against the Philadelphia Flyers but at the Boston Marathon, there were 2 bombings and they postponed the game to a later date in the season. The National Hockey League understands the safety issues and the player safety and security. The Toronto Maple leafs we’re 200 meters away from the shooting cause they were at the western hotel in downtown Ottawa. Thankfully, the players we’re not involved in this and injured. The gun man’s name was Michael Zehaf Bibeau who was 32 years of age, was a Canadian citizen who was having drug issues and mental illness issues. For the first time ever, the Canadian National anthem was played at an American NHL hockey game and was played to show respect and class. The next game between the Ottawa Senators and The New jersey Devils on October 23rd in Ottawa will be something very special and they’re will be a ceremony before the game.
