The draft is a very important day of the year for prospects of the NHL, Lots of nerves and smiles popping up on peoples faces. Its one of those days that you want to watch future NHL stars have a smile on there face ! I can only imagine what it would feel like to be drafted in the NHL. Its a dream of mine and is so to many other minor hockey players in the world! Connor McDavid ( age 17 ) was just an ordinary minor hockey player growing up in New Market, Ontario having one dream, to go pro in hockey. Connor McDavid was drafted 1st overall in the OHL entry draft by the erie otters. The world turned shockingly and saw what he could do, this year Connor Mcdavid put a record of 49 points in only 15 OHL hockey games in the regular season. In his 16th game, he suffered a fracture bone in his left hand and is out till now. He is expected to be back before the U-21 World junior hockey championships in Montreal and Toronto this upcoming year. With NHL scouts watching the young star produce in his league, the teams want him. He is expected to be playing for the Buffalo Sabres if the team continues to be unsuccessful in the 2014-2015 season. Connor Mcdavid and the Erie Otters are a record of 19 wins 3 loss and 1 shout out loss which puts them first in the league! Connor mcdavid was the first ever 16 year old to play in the under U-21 Canadian world junior hockey team. Connor Mcdavid had more points then Crosby did when he played minor hockey. Do we have the next big super star here in Canada? In my opinion i think so because it shows in his performance, he's ranked #1 in the OHL with only 15 games played.
